Now that it’s August, we’re all looking for ways to cool down instead of warm up, so hot tubs don’t get as much use. However, you don’t have to close off your hot tub for the season, as you can still get a lot of use out of it in the hot weather! Continue reading to learn how to enjoy your hot tub during the hot Maryland summer.
While hot tubs are often set to very high temperatures, they can be set much lower. Some hot tubs have the ability to be set down to 82-85 degrees to cool down your body temperature and help you relax on a summer evening. While this may still seem warm, normal body temperatures are around 98 degrees and ambient air temperature in Maryland is generally between 85-95 degrees, so setting the temperature any lower than that will help to cool your body down.
When using the hot tub on a hot summer afternoon, run the hot tub with the cover open and water features, such as air jets, on and operating. This allows the water to cool down enough to make it comfortable and relaxing on a hot and sunny day.
